The Independent Catholic Foundation, a public charity, is pleased to announce the expansion of our charitable services by administering Donor-Advised Funds.
A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF for short) can be thought of as a “charitable giving account” through which the donor receives a charitable gift receipt for each irrevocable contribution placed into his or her DAF with no government-imposed deadline for recommending grants to charitable causes. Many individuals and families use DAFs to (1) streamline their charitable giving, (2) “bunch” several years’ to make a larger impact, and/or (3) park their charitable funds until deciding which causes to support. Donor advisors can make grants from their DAFs by submitting recommendations by mail, email, or through our secure online portal where they can submit one-time or recurring grant recommendations.
Dono-Advised Funds are typically easier to manage than family foundations and may offer better tax advantages as well. DAFs administered by ICF may recommend grants to Catholic causes and non-Catholic causes whose missions do not contradict Catholic Church teachings.
