Established in 1990 as a self-governing, lay-led public charity, the Independent Catholic Foundation provides long-term financial support to Catholic causes throughout the US with emphasis on those operating within the Catholic Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown. We help donors contribute to or create perpetual endowments designated for Catholic School scholarships, cemetery perpetual care, parish operations, and ministry initiatives. We recently began to offer donor-advised funds that allow individuals to streamline their current charitable giving.
Because of extraordinary generosity by many individuals and families, the Foundation has become the region’s primary Catholic endowment administrator with 300 endowments in an investment portfolio aligned with the ethical, moral, and social teachings of the Catholic Church.
